DIY car lift I designed/built to make it easier to rebuild differentials and swap out transmissions, etc… If you want it done right, do it yourself.

I use this as in examples teaching beams and structures in 2.001 and in my machine design class 2.72/2.720.

There is no better way to clear my head when trying to solve a tough problem, than taking a long ride on a winding road.

I use the repair/customization of my Duc in examples for my machine design class 2.72/2.720.

Interests and hobbies:

  • Biking: Road biking, mountain biking, winter fat biking

  • Fixing: My cars (2010 & 2019 Mustangs) and my motorcycle (Ducati Monster)

  • Building: Woodworking, DIY home projects, making personal gifts, my own bikes

  • Nature: Fishing, hiking, kayaking, hunting, time in the mountains/forest

  • Food: Brewing beer, cooking gourmet meals, German food

A few of my favorite “things”:

  • My kids - They are my best “inventions”

  • People that see adversity as a gift and grow from it

  • People that think before they talk, and have empathy for others

  • People and places wherein meritocracy and free speech flourish

  • People and places that believe in community vs. self interest/survival

Philosophy on life:

Make your own happiness, nobody else can. Always do the right thing, or else nobody will.
